LeanIX Cloud Native Suite extends the power of LeanIX’s EA capabilities to effectively manage multi-cloud complexity, foster transparent governance, and speed up time to value for digital initiatives

Bonn, Germany -- November 26, 2019 -- Today at LeanIX EA Connect Day, LeanIX announced the release of LeanIX Cloud Native Suite with Cloud Intelligence as the first module. The Suite delivers  control over multi-cloud environments and creates operational efficiencies for dynamic workloads. Complementing LeanIX’s Gartner Magic Quadrant-listed Enterprise Architecture Management solution, Cloud Native Suite is designed to accelerate the innovation strategies of businesses dependent on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Most enterprises today invest heavily in Microservices architectures for modern application development, use containers for rapid deployments, and run infrastructure from multiple cloud providers. With such flexibility to quickly deploy at scale, managing cloud environments has become increasingly difficult.

“We want transparency into our landscape and we need to know which assets to protect,” said Nicolas Braun, Head of Information Security Engineering at Zalando. “This is where LeanIX, a long-time partner of ours, comes into play. We sync our cloud-specific IT assets into the LeanIX system to provide this exact transparency—not only for our IT security department but for all of Zalando so they can make business decisions based on the criticality of these assets.”

LeanIX Cloud Native Suite automates the discovery of cloud components to aid in visualizing the ownership and geographies of deployments, optimizing hotspots for cloud spend, and detecting potential violations. It offers:

  • Up-to-Date Multi-Cloud Overviews: Enhanced cloud portfolio analysis and management over deployed applications, Microservices, Tech Stacks, and Data Objects from across all cloud providers.
  • Cost Optimization Hotspots: Portfolio-level cost management integrated across all cloud deployments to access real-time costs on current cloud deployments and organized into architectural constituents.
  • Risk Mitigation: Mechanisms to identify cloud components that violate security, availability, and performance rules to ensure internal governance requirements are met.

“LeanIX is committed to developing solutions that enable Cloud Professionals and Enterprise Architects to address the challenges of cloud native technologies and multi-cloud environments,” said André Christ, LeanIX co-founder and CEO. “Over the past seven years, we’ve seen a significant shift in our customers’ cloud maturity. Every single brand we work with is now cloud-enabled in some way—whether through a single, web-based application deployment or a full, multi-year migration to a hyper-scale environment. The LeanIX Cloud Native Suite automatically discovers all cloud components and clusters to provide a real-time overview for everyone. This compelling view equips companies with the means to benefit from a well-governed and optimally-consumed cloud infrastructure.”

LeanIX Cloud Intelligence, the first module launched in the LeanIX Cloud Native Suite, is powered by Cloudockit and based on its strategic partnership with Montréal-based company UMAknow. Cloud Intelligence provides a single-window of truth for cloud applications across all hyperscale environments. From every workspace, users receive a holistic, actionable overview of their entire cloud landscape with fully-automated reporting capabilities for faster decision-making.

Said Marco De Monte, UMAknow President and Co-Founder: “The era of multi-cloud is upon us. As companies embark on their digital modernization, business value and growth will be determined by the choices they make to manage the cloud landscape. Our partnership with LeanIX is based on the foundation of solving the most pressing multi-cloud challenge: obtaining a single source of truth across all clouds. Our jointly-engineered solution will further strengthen Cloudockit capabilities to effectively manage hybrid multi-cloud deployments and alleviate the pain of administrative activities in cloud.”
